According to a eMarketer report, e-commerce in Indonesia is experiencing explosive growth. The research firm reveals that digital buyers in that country, it will grow 20% or more through 2019 and will eventually translate into more than 60 million buyers.

In another 2016 investigation conducted by the Penyelenggara Jasa Internet Telecommunications Association of Indonesia, on the online habits of consumers in that country, showed that Internet penetration in the country is aimed at younger consumers.

The study results they also revealed that Internet penetration is over 75% among consumers in the 10-24 and 25-34 age range. On the contrary, Internet penetration among users between the ages of 35 and 44 was 20 percentage points lower.
