How to create a PayPal account

When you set up a website, one of the first issues you have to take care of is payments. You need to give your future buyers options so they can buy your products.

That is why, although one of the usual ones is payment by bank transfer, or by credit card, you can also opt for another, such as payment by PayPal, which gives buyers much more peace of mind.

On the one hand, this allows the buyer that, if he does not receive the product, he can claim his money. On the other hand, you do not have to give your bank card number, which makes this data more secure.

It is a quick payment and is received instantly. Although in most cases they have a commission for receiving this payment (there are online stores that add this commission to the total sale and others that are supported by eCommerce), it is worth it, especially at the beginning since many times the Buyers prefer to place a "trial" order and check the quality of the product and service. When they repeat, and knowing that the eCommerce is "reliable" then they can change the payment method.

When one of your buyers puts a product in the shopping cart and starts the process to finalize the purchase, the payment method will appear on the last screens from which you can choose the ones you have put. If one of them is Paypal, at the moment the purchase is finished (sometimes even before confirming it) it will take you to the PayPal page.

There, you must log in to your PayPal account (if you don't have an account you can't pay like that). You will see a summary of the transaction you are making, telling you that you are going to withdraw the money, either from your bank account (if you have it set up in PayPal) or from your bank card. You just have to confirm that all the data is correct and wait for the payment to be processed.

In this case, you will receive a purchase confirmation from the eCommerce and another from PayPal notifying you that you have authorized the payment to that store (actually it can appear as the name of the store or as the name of the person in charge of it).

Of course, you have to make sure that you have enough funds in your PayPal account or on the card because, otherwise, the payment cannot be made.

How to pay with PayPal in installments

Why use PayPal?

Another of the options you have to pay with PayPal is to pay in three installments. In other words, instead of paying for the purchase in one go, the amount is divided between three installments that are paid in a fragmented manner.

This is not something that is offered in all online purchases. But you can consider it as eCommerce if the products you sell are usually expensive.

When paying with this method, PayPal notifies you of the monthly cost of that purchase. That is, it tells you how much it will charge you per month for splitting the total. Of course, PayPal pays the store in full. But then he asks you for the money that he himself has advanced on your behalf.

You have to know that in this case you have no interests. In other words, the fact that you pay it in three installments does not mean that you are going to pay more. The total price is respected and it is this that is divided by three to pay it. Also, you don't have to worry about paying monthly either, it's done automatically.

However, in order to request this, the purchase must be between 30 and 2000 euros. If it is lower or higher, you will not be able to opt for this form of payment.

To do this, when you choose PayPal as the payment method and click the Pay with PayPal button, in the summary below you can choose to pay in 3 installments. Another option is that this appears directly between the forms of payment of the online store. It doesn't always happen, but you can find it (and it would work just as we are telling you about it).

In fact, when you click on that option, the three payments and the dates on which they will be made will appear. The first of them will be the same day of purchase. And the following, after a month. For example, if you buy something on March 20, that day you would pay one third of what your purchase costs. On April 20 you would pay another third part. And on May 20 you would finish the payment that is pending.

As you can see, paying with PayPal is quite easy and you make things very simple for your buyers. For this reason, more and more businesses are including it in their payment methods. Of course, you must take into account the commissions they charge, to know if they must be paid by buyers or supported by you. Have you ever used PayPal to pay? What do you think of the tool?
