ESIC launches Finance Challenge, an online-gaming finance competition for mortals

ESIC launches with the collaboration of the Foundation of the University of Cantabria for the Study and Research of the Financial Sector (UCEIF Foundation) the Finance Challenge, the first online financial challenge contest. The Finance Challenge is a financial education project in the form of a game in which participants compete through an app for smartphones and tablets available in the Apple Store or Google Play, and also through any computer.

This financial challenge finance for mortals is born of a concern: that the world of finance is closer to the majority of the population. The objective is that, thanks to this game, anyone understands what is being said in the news, in politics, what they are saying when they are going to ask for a loan or what a mortgage depends on. Moreover, not only understand it, but also dare to ask about it and give an opinion. Questions such as why does unemployment rise and affiliation with Social Security grows at the same time? What is Sareb? or are my actions safe if the bank fails? are covered in this online game so that everyone knows what all those terms that are used so often and that many times are not understood by most people are about.

Participants will be able to play in the four categories available based on their knowledge of finance, which are:

  1. Financial survival, with "basic" economics and finance questions for any 2nd Cycle student
  2. Finances for mortals, with questions about economics and finances, the answers to which we will find resolved at Finanzasparamortales.es
  3. Another view of finance, with questions that relate the economy and finance to art, film, music, history, humor, and literature
  4. Finances for divine, with questions on economics and finances for the greatest experts in these matters.

The contest is also divided into 3 phases that the participants must overcome in order to play in the grand final.

  • Phase I: Where it all begins. From November 18 to 20. All the participants who have signed up for the contest play in it.
  • Phase II: Competition intensifies. From November 25 to 27. Of all the participants, the top 100 will be classified.
  • Phase III: Grand Final. November 28. The moment of truth, where the 50 best students will compete live, for 1 hour, to qualify for the Grand Prize or any of the 4 prizes per category.

In the grand finale all participants will enjoy the live performance of Motiva2. Humor and magic from the hand of Mr. Corrales and Javi Martín. Laughter, magic tricks and 50 compis fighting live to show how much they know about finances in one place.
