Bankia has launched a new service for its contactless cards (contactless) that allows withdrawals to your ATM network without having to insert the card into the device. With the Bankia contactless cards It is enough to bring the contactless card close to the cashier's identification card (five semicircle sticker next to the keyboard) to be able to operate. Thanks to this functionality, it will be possible to operate more quickly and safely at Bankia ATMs.
In addition, this improvement is also incorporated into Bankia Wallet, the service recently launched by the entity that allows you to convert your mobile phone into a contactless card.
The procedure to operate at Bankia ATMs with contactless cards is simple: once the ATM has detected the card, the user can enter their PIN, save the card and start operating as usual, without having to keep it inserted in the device.
This new functionality allows you to win simplicity y speed in the process of withdrawing cash from the ATM In addition, security is increased when carrying out the operation because the card always remains in the possession of its holder, it is avoided to leave it forgotten at the ATM and there is no possibility that the terminal will retain the card.
Currently, Bankia has more than 600 ATMs that allow this operation. The rest will be progressively adapted until the entire bank of ATMs of the entity are completed.
Bankia already has more than 890.000 contactless cards issued that can benefit from this new functionality. In addition, these cards can also be used to make purchases at the more than 400.000 POS (point of sale terminals) or dataphones adapted to contactless payment in Spain.
The new way to withdraw money at ATMs using contactless technology It is also available for Bankia Wallet. This service was recently launched by the entity, and combines a contactless card and a mobile application. The holder of Bankia Wallet can make purchases with the mobile phone without using other cards or cash, and only by bringing the mobile phone closer to the point of sale terminal.
