Amazon Prime is a payment service that allows users benefit from free shipping, access to streaming articles and other benefits through a monthly or annual fee. Recently the research firm GfK Research, Amazon Prime customers they have set their sights on e-commerce of groceries.

The research found that Amazon Prime members spend five more hours visiting 50 businesses shopping online compared to other shoppers. This service has a subscriber base that ranges between 65 and 80 million users. Amazon generates $ 6.4 trillion in revenue from these customers.
The report also reveals that around one third of Amazon Prime users visit supermarket web pages or apps, compared to only 25% of buyers who are not members of this service.
Grocery ecommerce opportunity for other retailers
Although some may perceive Amazon as a threat, the reality is that with 32% of the Prime users visiting marketplace websites and apps, grocery retailers can be successful in ecommerce.
That is, these retailers can compromise Amazon Prime customers in their own programs and applications. Although Prime members have paid for exclusive access to special offers and promotions, the report indicates that they are willing to shop elsewhere.
In fact, it is not only focus exclusively on Amazon, rather, they are used to an online shopping experience and are therefore willing to take advantage of what other retailers have to offer.
The research also showed that Amazon Prime customers are more likely to visit apps and club stores where membership is required. Therefore retailers can equally engage their customer base with special membership offers or other benefits.
